ENSURING SMOOTH GROUND OPERATIONS FOR 75+ YEARS
1948
Mercury is created as an aircraft refueling and ground handling servicer at LAX by former members of the Flying Tigers, a group of American aviators who fought in World War II.
1977
The Ground Support Equipment (GSE) division is established at LAX, diversifying Mercury’s business while underscoring an unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality GSE.
1988
The business is purchased by private equity, and the GSE division of Mercury is spun out privately.
2018
Cembrus Capital purchases outstanding shares of Mercury GSE. A new management team leads Mercury forward, further developing its industry-leading capabilities.
2019
Mercury team completes its new state-of-the-art maintenance and production facility in LAX, a 35,000-square-foot service and refurbishment facility with 10 rebuild bays.
2021
Mercury opens a brand-new maintenance and production facility close to the DFW Airport, increasing its presence and capabilities in the region.
2023
Mercury GSE rebrands to showcase its leadership in the industry and expands its maintenance facility at the Southern California Logistics Airport.
2024
Future facility in development in the East to be located in Nashville or North Carolina further expanding Mercury's nationwide presence.
